Women’s Development Organisation was set up in Oct 1990, by a few men and women dedicated to the cause of women, particularly in rural areas, to make their modest Non-Governmental effort in this direction by way of making linkages of weaker sections of the society to public sector through different Government and Non-Government developmental schemes.

Women’s Development Organisation (WDO) was formed with prime objective to assist, encourage and to uplift rural & urban economically backward women from their welter of poverty that has still plagued them even after many years of independence.

Our approach has been to create maximum employment benefits for those deprived sections of the society, Women’s Development Organisation was formed as an APEX Body for marketing of products manufactured by weaker section of the society. WDO is also getting marketing support at par with KVIC form Govt. of India under Cabinet decision of Department of Supply. Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India.

The Women’s Development organisation (WDO) was formed as a Voluntary Organisation in Oct. 1990 duly registered under Societies Registration Act 1860 having registration number 1744 dated 30th Oct.1990. The affairs of the Organisation are attended by a Board of General Body and Management Committee. The Management Committee mainly comprises of Women workers who have expertise and experienced in related fields like Medical, Social Work. Teaching, Agro Forestry, Farming and textile Designing etc. The Management Committee is the pivot of the Organisation which Administers, controls and directs the affairs and funds, subject to the Rules and by-laws & decisions of the General Body and advice of the Advisory Council.

The Advisory Council is required not only to provide initiative and guidance to the Management committee but also to over see the performance of the Committee to ensure that sound and fruitful projects are undertaken and implemented speedily.

To expand WDO activities it was registered on All India basis vied Registration No. S-29819/96.
